A praxeological reference model for analyzing proportion tasks in textbooks
This public seminar will give participant an insight in central examples of the work of Dyana Wijayanti, PhD-student at IND since November 2013. Dyana holds a ph.d.-scholarship from the Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI).
Abstract.
Mathematics education research opens many new research topics today, for example comparative research on textbooks. However, to be able to capture the results of this comparative research, usually we are challenged by how cultural and institutional differences mix with different approaches to the mathematical theme. In this seminar, the purpose is to present and try out a new approach to the proportion theme in textbooks, based on a model of mathematical praxeologies found in Indonesian textbooks. The idea is to develop this framework to do an international comparative study of the proportion theme, as well as strongly related themes.
