About the book:
Drawing on eight crowdsourced cases, and with more than 40 scholars, developers, and practitioners contributing their insights, the book comprehensively explores the everyday experiences surrounding teaching, learning, and collaboration across borders and boundaries within higher education.

The book begins with a foundational chapter introducing interdisciplinary practices and setting a broad context for understanding the dynamics of teaching, learning, and collaboration across disciplines. Following this, focuses on specific aspects of interdisciplinary work, including managing the breadth versus depth of content, navigating disciplinary identities, and the governance structures essential for supporting interdisciplinary courses and programs. Key topics also cover the alignment of academic outcomes with stakeholder expectations, and considerations for the professional growth and career trajectories of interdisciplinary researchers.

In addition to practical insights, each chapter includes expert commentaries and analyses on the challenges presented in the cases, providing a mix of theory and applicable guidance. The book concludes with reflections on sustainable inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations, making it a comprehensive resource for educators, administrators, and students invested in boundary crossing higher education.
