Center for Digital Education

The Center for Digital Education (CDE) was established in the fall of 2019 as a collaborative effort between the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Science Education at the University of Copenhagen. CDE connects and supports experts in computer science and STEM education in the joint exploration of the possibilities and consequences of the digitisation of educational processes and institutions.

Ambitions

CDE has a strong research profile in technology comprehension and digitisation in specific areas in the educational system. We contribute to both departments' overall teaching portfolio that promotes teachers 'and students' digital competencies internally at the university and other institutions (primary school, high school and teacher education programs).

The Mars Base

Scenario didactic project that develops and explores new narrative methods for physics teaching in high school. The aim of the project is to create a game that teachers can use in their teaching of physics at the C-level in the Danish upper secondary level.

The goal of this project is to empirically investigate the possible roles of programming and computational thinking (PCT) as part of students’ mathematical competencies, and support Danish teachers work with integrating PCT in mathematics
