Orchestrating students’ collective probabilistic reasoning in elementary school

In Denmark, pupils meet the notion of probability already in elementary school. The project will investigate, in this context, how challenging (e.g. counterintuitive) probability problems may facilitate students' probabilistic reasoning and participation in whole-class validation situations. The intervention study uses ATD-based didactic engineering and lesson study as methodological approaches/framework to study this question experimentally.
