Future teachers’ knowledge of real numbers in the digital age

14 month seminar (seminar given 14 months ahead of expected delivery of PhD thesis)

Abstract: First, I will briefly introduce my whole PhD project and the work I have completed so far. Then I will put my focus on my first paper, which is about the future teachers’ work on real numbers as decimal representations with a simple computer algorithm. Afterwards, I will describe the work I am currently doing for the second paper, which is also on decimal representations but with the algorithm related to logarithms. The plan for the rest of my PhD program will be presented in the end.
