New European Math project at DSE
A new European project has been granted to the DidMat group, in collaboration with a number of other partners, including the Freudenthal Institute (Netherlands) and the University of Zagreb (Croatia).
The name of the new project is TIME, standing for “Teachers’ inquiry in Mathematics Education”. It will investigate and implement lesson study in upper secondary mathematics education in a number of European countries, as a method to further inquiry oriented mathematics teaching based on the Theory of Didactic Situation and Realistic Mathematics Education, two major paradigms of mathematics education research.
From KU, the participants are Britta Jessen and Carl Winsløw. The project is a continuation of the former EU-project MERIA, involving the same partners.
