Hendriksen's current project, “Epistemologies of Taste,” is funded by a KNAW Early Career Award and a Dutch Research Council Aspasia Premium. It explores how we can understand intersecting historical epistemologies of sensory and aesthetic taste—i. e., how taste was used to acquire and transmit knowledge in the past, and how we can use reconstructions of historical tastes to enhance our understanding of the role of taste in knowledge production. Marieke Hendriksen is also the president of , the Belgian‐Dutch Society for the History of Science and Universities (). Her joining the editorial team will strengthen its expertise on non‐traditional methods in the history of science and help promote the journal outside the German‐speaking world.
